"Exhibiting my ceramics with the New Artist Fair was somewhat different from any other exhibitions in which I have been involved, and I've exhibited in quite a few galleries, from North Wales to Essex.
The organizers Leah and Oliver are passionate about both the art and the artists. I sold numerous pieces at both the September 2011 and February 2012 exhibitions which was more than I have ever sold at any other art fairs, so they really know the business of advertising and display.
Their exhibitions are planned and worked upon, including masses of advertising, months before the private view, and they are both very much present throughout the whole event.
Meeting other artists from around the world and seeing their work is also pretty inspiring. All of this makes me feel more part of the whole process rather than when I just simply drop work off to a gallery and go away, leaving the whole selling thing to the gallery owner.
Since exhibiting and selling to lovers of ceramics I have been inspired to create more designs and techniques including using ceramic transfers to fire onto the surface of some of my "pots".
I have recently landed a job as a Pottery Tutor at the Billericay Arts Association and also have applied for membership of The Guild of Essex Craftsmen, based at Cressing Temple Barns, although they exhibit all over essex about 8 times a year.
See you at the next New Artist Fair exhibition in September 2012."
