Belinda Pearce
After a life-time as a lawyer, painting sporadically as a hobby, I decided a few years ago to devote more time and effort to my pastime and move it to the fore.
I am a long-standing member of the 'Cloud Appreciation Society' and
combine my lifelong fascination with skies, cloud formations, sunrises
and sunsets with a contemporary interpretation of seascapes to create
unique panoramas reflecting the complex hues of sea and sky.
My style is more representational than literal; my current theme of
'Horizons' may be somewhat ethereal, my hope being that each canvass
will have the ability to impact a variety of interpretations, from the
literal 'place where the earth meets the sky' to a more individually
symbolic expression.
I work in mixed media - oil and acrylic PLUS emulsion.
I hit upon this novel idea of incorporating match-pot paints whilst
redecorating my flat, and now blend emulsion colour combinations to
compliment home decor offering a bespoke feature.
Encouraged by friends, colleagues and those who have bought some of my
work, to expose my canvases to the wider public, I have exhibited at
craft fairs and in local cafes and now will be exhibiting at the New Artist Fair.
